Busy doing nothing.....

busy-doing-nothing-working-the-whole-day-through

I've had a mild cold this week, can't complain as it must be over a year since I had one, but it has been a bit of an excuse to do nothing. Of course things I have to do like my job etc, I've done but today I find myself....doing nothing and guess what, its nice!

Rules for busy doing nothing successfully:
1: The weather has to be pleasant, rain etc will just make you feel depressed.
2: There must be no one else with you or you would feel guilty.
3: You must be on your guard that when family etc are due back in, you have made up an excuse to why 'nothing' has been done.

Theres the thing, why do we feel guilty, or make excuses to why we do nothing. 'What have you been up to today?' 'Nothing'. Eeek, its almost a swear word. So there you go, apart from putting a little bit of ironing away, until later, I'm busy doing nothing and I don't feel gulty!!!!!!

If anyone asks, I ironed a pile of clothes, cleaned all my cupboards out, did the gardening, paperwork........

Hi Amanda, nothing sounds good to me, after a hard day at work all I want to do is collapse on the sofa and do nothing!
It's funny how the guilt factor comes in though, why is it always like that!!!!!

Hi Amanda, This is a wonderful post. I think I'll cut it out and paste it on my board. I struggle with guilt, especially when working on teddy bears (because I love it so much). We need to eliminate guilt. Hugs from Vicki

Hi Vicki, I know what you mean, its a massive guilt trip even though there are times I'm hurting no one by doing nothing. Its as if in these times its almost a sin, that said I'm now busy doing something....
